Pronounced "tusk"

It's like "humph" or when you tut with your mouth, you know. Someone says something and you can either roll your eyes or tut. *tuts*

It is used in a quote where there was a spelling or grammatical error in the original source. It's saying that the person transcribing the quote knows that the error exists, and it was not their error; it was an error of the original author/speaker. Often when used informally on the net etc. it has a slightly superior undertone and can annoy people when used for no other reason than to pull people up on their spelling and/or grammar.
