compare nottingham with manchester and its also bad

Personally, i don't trust statistics. But yes, Nottingham does have a high crime rate. However, besensible, stay out of areas like radford and St Annes and you'll be fine. It would be such a shame if people didn't apply here due to this. xx
Nottingham is fine. If we are talking statistics Leicester has a much higher incidence of rape than Nottingham - no-one puts out scare stories abotu Leicester.

Get over it. Nottingham is awesome. These threads are getting so tiresome.

So you should NEVER EVER go to London?? If nottingham is the crime-ridden ghetto you seem to think it is, London must be the worst scumhole on the planet!

p.s. this is sarcasm. I live in London, near to Peckham and Brixton and ive never had any crime at all.

I don't know why this guy rears his ugly head every so often to rant on about 'the truth' about Nottingham, which as a city of a quarter of a million people does have bad sides, but also a great many good parts. There's nowhere in the country that doesn't have crime.

PMSL!

Sorry, I find that hilariously funny since I come from the roughest area of Stoke-on-Trent and moved to Radford.

I gotta say, I feel *FAR* safer in Radford than I did in Stoke. Radford is a MUCH nicer area, has a better feel, and I don't know of any crime that's gone on in my area - though I've heard people in Lenton, Beeston, university park, etc, all complaining about crime. Nobody yet in Radford.. everyone I know here says they feel safe.

Out of curiosity, why compare it with s-o-t?

crime rates dont lie epsecially how nottingham is not just slightly worse in crime to stoke its far worse,go ahead, compare the two cities yourself and see,

face it you are far more likely to get mugged in nottingham than stoke, admit it and move on

No you're not. It's exactly the same...

Both have a figure for 'Violence Against the Person' of 33 offences per 1000 of population.

What exactly is the point you're trying to make, other than the fact you're a complete arse?

question, why dont you follow your own advice? nottingham isn't losing out if you aren't here, and as far as you're concerned, neither are you.

pmsl LOL at same crime rate,i hope you are not doing maths at uni
Stoke on Trent City Council
All crime statistics are per 1,000 of the population within the local authority area.

Nottingham City Council Stoke on Trent City Council
Sexual offences 2 2
Violence against the person 33 33
Population 273,860 237,990
Households 116,000 99,000
Robbery offences 6 1
Burglary dwelling offences 23 7
Theft of a motor vehicle offences 10 5
Theft from a vehicle offences 26 11

compare them and tell me how thats the SAME crime rate

lmao look at robbery offences as well

You said that you're more likely to be mugged in Notts. That's not the case - violence against the person are the same, 33-33. From experience (since I've lived in BOTH places), Stoke feels more threatening than Nottingham does, even to the locals. I've also found that people in NOttingham are far more friendly and honest - for example, today I had several people tell me that I'd left my keys in my motorbike. THey could have just hopped on it and left.

Vehicle theft doesn't have anything to do with 95% of students, who don't have vehicles. Burglary, robbery and household are only an issue for those not living in halls (within halls is a problem with the uni people, not the city in general) which is a small proportion.

Therefore, the only stats that matter to the people on this board are sexual offenses and violence against the person, which are equal.

what a bollox statement,as i know someone at trent who is from stoke and has never been mugged in stoke but has been mugged in nottingham,so by his definition people are stoke are more friendly and less threatening

rubbish post from you that made no sense, and since studnets brings cars up(quite alot of them) and alot live in housing i.e dunkirk or lenton then burglary does effect you,so again you have shown to be a rubbish poster

Okay, normally I wouldn't resort to member bashing, but since you've resorted to blatant, mindless idiocy along the lines of 'you're a rubbish poster' - **** off and go back to your mental hospital, you thick pratt.

Maybe Trent students bring cars up, but UoN students don't, because we were specifically told that unless you're staff or disabled then you're HIGHLY unlikely to get a car parking space. The halls don't have adequate parking. And almost everyone I know is living in halls and not private accomodation, though that increases by year. Burglary is mostly only a problem for people without an alarm system, and if you don't have one then more fool you.

I lived in the worst part of Stoke-on-Trent, as I'm now living in the worst part of Nottingham, supposedly. I've been attacked many times in Stoke, been in hospital before because of it, had our windows broken three, four, five times a year, some of my friends have been raped multiple times, three cars ran into the side of our house last year, and people from Stoke are possibly the most unfriendly people I've ever met, aside from Londoners and the French. I spent eighteen years there making that deduction. Don't assume that your friend's word is god. That's one person. I'm talking about everyone I know from Stoke. The stats for mugging/violent crime speak for themselves - and like you said earlier, the stats tell all  What the stats say is that you're equally likely to be mugged in either place. My personal experience is that Nottingham feels safer. Feels.

You said that you are more likely to be mugged in Nottm than Stoke. You're wrong.

Both places have the same number of 'crimes against the person' per thousand of the population i.e 33 per 1000. THAT IS THE SAME YOU MORON.

You say you 'know someone at trent who is from stoke and has never been mugged in stoke but has been mugged in nottingham'.

So bloody what? I've lived in Nottingham for 33 years and have never been mugged, un yet visiting my paerents in Windsor, I was mugged. Does that make Windsor more dangerous for muggings than Nottingham? Of course it doesn't.

Your argument was flawed from the very first post you made.

Jianren, you cannot reason against stupidity. Leave the moron to their little delusions. If it makes them happy, then so be it. We live here, we know what it's really like.

You can say that again, when I went to visit my mate a few months ago who goes to Nottingham Uni and lives in Lenton I just couldn't believe how students own cars, and I'm not talking about old-banger bone shakers, I'm talking about cars such as brand new Polo's, Clio's. I've even saw students driving BMW's, Audi's and Mercedes's  (no, I'm not joking). where on earth do these people get the money from?

Has anyone else noticed the high level of students with cars who live in Lenton?

i repeat what i said, the guy from stoke got mugged and had gangs roaming aroung in halls called liberty square in radford where scallies would break and and try and mug students,he never got mugged or had any crime on himself in stoke which belittles your pointless post so he feels stokes safer

oh and radford is not the worst part of notingham, bulwell, bestwood, broxtowe estate, bilborough, meadows,st annes, top valley are just a few that are worst so please stop posting
