my referee made two typing errors (in one instance using the wrong word) on my reference and has sent it to ucas. :frown: will this impact majorly on my application?

Only if she meant to write 'good' and wrote 'awful'.

 If your teachers have bad english you might get special consideration

Did you notice these errors before you sent the application or after? And how could teachers makes this kind of error? What has your tutor said about this? I would just like to clarify that I did notice some typos in my reference but they weren't as bad as the ones you've listed above. :p:

Have you spoken to your teacher about it? How could they be so incompetant?

Reply 9

At least you sent yours off, teachers are taking the mick.

How did you see your reference?

Reply 12

i asked for a copy today.

Reply 13

just checked. Racket = racquet.
only 2 errors now. :smile::frown:

I'm sure it won't impact your application. It was your teacher that made the mistakes, not you.

Calm down. This will make no difference. How could your teacher's ability to spell/type possibly reflect any aspect of you? No admissions tutor could be so stupid as to think that it would, so relax!

There were mistakes on mine too (and it was written by the head of 6th form - tisk tisk). In fact he even spelt my name wrong (there were two variations on the spelling in the reference, and my name is Kate - not exactly complicated), which you'd think might perhaps imply that he didn't really know me well at all! However I got 5/6 offers and am currently typing this in my room at my first choice uni - so I really wouldn't give it too much thought if I were you.

turns out he noticed the "god" mistake and corrected it

Reply 17

i had typos in my personal statement! didnt seem to matter at all!

My referee almost sent my application off without relising he'd spelt my name wrongly the whole way through it lol

 I must have double, triple checked everything on ucas. I had to change, on my PS, some words to the correct spelling, ie: color to colour. Almost did it to the reference
