pharmacy at Aston!!

is anyone here doing pharmacy?

im hoping to apply soon..

if anyone is doing pharmacy, what were your predicted grades and what was your offer?

do you think they will consider me with ABC C in chem (predicted) and give me an offer?
(on their site they ask for ABB-BBB grades not points)

Guy in my flat is doing pharmacy, not that i know anything about it or the requirements etc.
Same here, well apart from the fact that my flatmate's a girl. I'll ask her later!

Hey Pi, I can call you that, right? I'm a first year pharmacy student at Aston. It is possible that you could get an offer, but personal statement/references etc also play a part (you know how it goes). I know someone who RESAT and obtained BBD (Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology respectively) and is also studying the course. I wouldn't pin my hopes on this example, Pi, but it might be worth keeping in mind. There's no harm in being optimistic. Generally, from my knowledge, the 'normal' offer is BBB. Also bear in mind predictions and actual achievement are different things, so try and get as high grades as possible to put yourself in a good/safe position come August ‘06.

Personally I cannot relate, as I am classed as a 'failed Dentistry applicant' (after a year out) and my grades already met the offer (BBB). But the thing is, I applied in April this year and I got the offer, so I would think yes, they would consider you.

Hey, i've applied to Aston for pharmacy, but not heard anything off them yet.

My predicted grades are ABB but i only got BBCD in my AS-levels (the D was in chemistry of all things, as i pooed up the practical...crap crap) but so far i've still got an offer from DeMontfort, and interviews at Manchester and Nottingham, so for me to get some interviews was pretty amazing.

I guess it does also depend alot on the personal statement, aswell as references (those played a big part in mine obviously) and doing work exp is certainly very helpful.

Hope this was of some use xx

Erm Pi, I know youg to an offer now and all, but I think it was actually BCD what the retake student achieved, so WOHOO!. Chin up folks, if you aint heard nothing yet then stay optimistic because lets face it, you've still got a good chance.

I didn't have an work experience in a Pharmacy so God knows how I got in. So you people have got a decent chance.

I got offered ACC and ended up with BCC and none in biology. I had a good personal statement and references and pharmacy prefer to go on that as they want good alround students. (although some lectures don't realise that!)
