I cut myself [badly] shaving

It's awful. Earlier I proper gashed my skin (I was removing some side burn hair that was there].

I've got two big cuts, that bled for about 2 hours :eek:

I actually think this could lead to scarring :frown:

I've already covered the cuts up with a thick layering of concealer, which has done the trick, but probably isn't doing the wound any good.

I'm soooo stupid.

What should I do to treat these cuts/diminish chances of scarring? Seriously now people coz this is not good :frown:

I've removed the concealer and put some Savlon cream on.

It hurts badly :frown:

They're not just little cuts, they're long and really red and quite deep :frown:

Heavens knows how I managed it!

2 = Dont stress, i do it loads i would advise once the bleeding has stopped you dont do anything, if you start putting stuff on it you will just puss it up maybe a little antiseptic cream. Just allow nature to take it course and you skin will heal.

Firstly, you have to clean that area... if you have alcohol, that would be best, or with any anti-septic cream or lotion.

Secondly, don't use the concealer on the cut skin... it mightn't do much good. Once the wound has healed, you can start smearing tea tree oil lotion (there are quite nice scar removal stuffs at Boots- the more pricey, the more effective), and just wait for the scar to efface... might take some time. Once it is just a scar, you can start applying the concealer.

how did you manage to cut yourself so deep it might lead to scarring.
I wouldnt worry about it, you would have to go very deep to leave a scar and unless your using a straight razor i dont think it will.
and besides show it off with pride say you got it wrestling wild lions whilst backpacking through africa or something lol

As soon as the skin has healed over, use vitamin E. It's hidden almost all the scars on my arms :P though you need to keep using it for a few months/

For covering up spots/blemishes if I get them. I don't think it's that unusual in boys, I know quite a few who would use concealer [not necessarily gay, either].

The cuts aren't as bad this morning, but they still look nasty.

Heavens knows how I managed to do it, I don't think I was concentrating properly.

I've never cut myself bad enough that I've been bleeding for 2 hours, but in general the things that are good for you that unfortunately sting like hell should have been put on it. At least you put antiseptic cream on it in the end...

what razor did you cut yourself with to bring about such a gash, were you using a cut throat on yourself or something because i cant see any possible way of using a normal razor that you could do such a thing unless you went over a spot or something, if i cut myself i put aftershave balm on that usually stops me bleeding.

haha you obviously slided the blade on the skin parallel to the blade like knife cutting meat action? :P hold it properly next time, just slide on a straight line not diagonally or horizontally. try shaving in the shower.

Quite a many men (including metrosexuals) use concealers & all the paraphernalia. Recently, when I went to a Uni rugger's place, I was surprised to find that his skin care lotions far surpassed mine!
