Has anyone had a blood test and can you tell me what they do
It's the least exciting thing in the world, really. They'll either put a blood pressure cuff or a tourniquet around your upper arm, and tighten it so that your veins stand out. Then they'll swab the area they're taking from (usually the inside of your elbow), stick in the needle - you don't have to watch this bit - and draw out some blood. It's not much, only 10 or 20ml, and then it's put into special tubes to be sent to labs. Not scary.
yep just put a belt round the top of your arm and pull it firmly fitted then put a needle into the front side of your elbow (creased side), then they stick a tube on...it fills up, they remove it, stick another in, fill up, remove, stick another in, fill up remove...you get the jist It's nothing to bother about in the slightest.
they stick an injection in your elbow bit where the veins are. It hurts for a sec, but its nothing but a pin prick. But the worst bit is when they take the blood out into bottles, they sorta like pump the injection. I once had 6 bottles taken out from me. Then they take it off and put a plaster on it.
o0o, i remember when i worried about a blood test for a week. I am terrified of blood and needles, so both together was not good. But anyway, i wont lie, it stings, they say it is like a scratch, but it's not, it's jsut a stinging sensation that is rather sore for the milli-second they put it in, but it jsut feels uncomfortable after that, and before you even know it, it's out.
