Assalamoalaikum is the Muslim way to greet someone...it is used in Saudia Arabia, Iran, pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia and all the rest of the Muslim countries. I dont know what other words they use but Salaam, or salamalaikum or similar forms are used....(:

correction...peace is used in both semetic languages to say hello... in arabic its 'salam' and in ivrit (hebrew) its 'shalom'

Actually it's in BOTH!! I should know cuz my dad's arab and mum's iranian!!! In iranian it is pronounced salaam but in arabic salam (alaykum)!
