Hi there, has anyone done, or is doing the maths coursework problem called 'Cargo'?
Basically, it's about sticking labels on boxes, which make up a cube, with 3 faces showing = 3 labels stuck on, 2 faces showing = 2 labels stuck on, 1 face showing = 1 label.

The puzzle is to find a general rule for predicting how many boxes will have 3 labels, 2 labels, 1 label and no label, for any size cube?

Any ideas, views, and any guidance would be gratefully appreciated.

Do a search on painted cube (it's the same thing)

Anyway - this coursework is visual. All to do with number of vertices, edges and the size of a face if you remove the edges, course the number of cubes with no face showing will be the cuboid inside (eg each side will be 2 cubes shorter)
