my best friend is a girl and i treat her like she's my sister - but then again i have known her since i was born. i treat all my other female friends very well but the ladder theory is so true for my relationship with them.

I personally find that I talk more with my female friends, but other than that there's not much difference in the way that I treat (fe)male friends. I suppose there may be some subconcious things I do that I don't notice, though.

Reply 6

I tend to be more polite.
Then again, I dont have any really close female friends.

Reply 7

i try to be nice and be friendly but some think i just do it to try and get out with them.

Reply 8

I treat them like friends and I treat them like girls

Reply 9

With me, they treat me like one of the lads.

My guy mates treat me very well, which is great cos i;ve always found it easier totalk to guys, i can say things to guy mates that i can't say to my girlfriends, this is the opposite for most girls, its wierd. But my guys are great, i wouldn;t change any of them for the world.

i too am more polite round girls that are friends, what i talk about round girls that are friends is a lot different to what i talk about with bloke friends, e.g. bloke friends talk is football, women, beer, stereotypical man things. with women we talk about other things generally other people, but cant really remember as i dont pay much attention.

To be fair i don't think you can be really good friends with a girl and not want a bit more than friendship, if you know what i mean- it's human nature!

That's a fair point, but it's just a case of getting your mind over it. Particularly in the past 2.5 years, I've made a LOT of female friends. The ones I became closer to than others, there was usually a point where I felt something for them, but in almost all cases I didn't want to let my feelings screw up the relation I'd built up with them, so I got into my mind the idea that while I liked them, I didn't LOVE them. Hey, it's worked so far  Nowadays whenever I see any of my female friends, having sex with them is not on my mind at all.

Eh, I suppose the fact that I'm not into the idea of one night stands may be a helpful factor in me doing this, but you never know; it might work for other people.

the ladder theory is slightly flawed as in i do not think about shagging the girls that i am friends with that are ugly.
