The Student Room Group

What's going on?

There is a guy in my hall that I am massively attracted to, and during fresher's week we kissed, but the morning after he stated that he thinks that we would be very good friends. I was, of course, upset, and tried to put him out of my mind. But we have discussed it previously and he says that I'm beautiful, and that my figure is perfect, but he doesn't date stereotypically attractive girls! I've found this pretty strange! Doesn't really fit with the whole Ladder Theory! HELP!!

thats awful and he is being silly
Yeah, it pretty damn sucks. No, he doesn't have a girl friend or anything. It's just strange. He said that if he was a bastard he would just sleep me with, but he 1. Isn't like that 2. We live in the same halls 3. I'm a virgin. He says he values me too much. This is depressing me though, I'm with him all the time.

The ladder theory isn't true, for the most part. Don't take that too seriously.
And I have no idea what he's about. Maybe he fancies someone else

The ladder theory is just stereotypical - although there are people who do fall into that category, many (like myself) do not.

I do have one comment to make...
he doesn't date stereotypically attractive girls

Although this is the opposite of what usually happens, he's still quite shallow in that he's basing his decisions on a girl's looks rather than their personality. I'm sure he's a lovely guy, but you may well be better off without him.
