Last weekend of being a proper student: bubbles, balls, gay clubbing (x2) and coming home as the sun rises. Life will never be this glamorous again.

Mwahahah my sequencing has worked

Just found out that I got an awesome mark for my learning log, which means I more than made up for my mediocre presentation mark and will get a distinction for research methods!

I am easily pleased I know...

Some bloody travel writer has just shattered my MA thesis research thanks to his god-awful titled piece of 'research' that has been published as a book and is now gracing Amazon.

The title alone makes me want to puke :frown:

What with that and finding out the PhD studentship I had that interview last year went to a qualified specialist reg medic, I sometimes wonder what on else is happening to the world of academia?

Oh man, after that faculty meeting, I definitely need to go to a real university. After 11 years of Oxford and Cambridge ... nothing changes!

<shoots himself in the head>

It's been pretty busy and great! Still gotta get some more data to synthesise and interpret.

I can't wait for Monday :stickyman:

I despise this thesis now.

Is that your submission date? Good luck!!

I'm feeling marginally smug about the fact that everything I've written up from scratch has gotten thumbs up from my supervisor with only minor tidying and tweaking needed  Its a huge relief obviously. I know people who had to rewrite two or three times!

You have two missed calls - witheld number.

Does anyone know how to find out who called. I'm on O2 if that makes any difference.

You can't. If it's nuisance calls then your phone company can release the number to the police in the course of an investgiation, but they're not legally allowed to tell you who it is.

Introduction and conclusion to go  I was hoping to have finished tonight, but in fairness I felt pretty ill yesterday, and the literature review was a beast :sigh: Serves me right for picking an area that's had the biggest amount of state funding pumped into it for a decade

I've finally almost finished my econometrics project. Mostly due to being ill and me doing far too much work, I wrote over 15k words total for a 5k project, which is now cut down. Just done the bibliography, just the abstract to write and appendix to put together...

I owe you an email - thank you for replying, I've also been swept up in other things so I will get to it this weekend :yy:

I just handed in my thesis, and brought home a bound copy for myself with a pretty cover  I also assumed I'd have to wait longer for results due to the extension, but it transpires that they're squeezing me into the tail end of the marking process and giving me results along with everybody else in just over a week!

Reply 3996

Well done for getting it finished Craggy!

Reply 3997

Me too, project handed in  Such an incredible relief, and I'm actually quite happy with it in the end. I have a nice result I didn't expect that I can expand into a dissertation and hopefully the project will get a pretty good mark (and make up somewhat for royally screwing-up the econometrics exam). But mainly I'm just happy it's done. My first bit of (sole-authored) actual research, I think.
