Course: Economics (L101)
Offer: AAA
Accepting?: Probably as insurance...although it's not a proper insurance because Oxford is AAA, and UCL is AAA - so have no insurance, and putting it down for the hell of it!

no it's not a dumb move at all thanks! in my case, they are the only 2 unis I want to go to really, and so if I don't get the 3 A's and they don't give any leeway, i'll take the year out, retake, and re-apply - I'd rather do that, than go somewhere with a lower offer, and not really be content.

Sorry rajeeb! Were kind of on the same thinking anyway, but I didn't know your standards were that high! LSE/OXFORD OR STFU

If your getting the offers from the top unis you will hardly want to go to a uni in clearing. But a year of retakes isn't much fun either you have to go through the process again and it is as boring as hell having to go through the subject again. If you want to go that route then that's brilliant, I like a person with a bit of determination, but it's definetely not an easy decision to make. You have to think, will Oxford and Lse really want you after you've already missed their grades. (btw. oxford and lse aren't likely to do you any favours if it goes wrong on results day)

Well if that's how you really feel make sure you make sure to stick to that way of thinking on results day. Because on results day everyone will be giving advice (most will be talking crap) and I think it's best to have the contingency plan thought out in advance.

Edexcel has 6 units. Half of the marks on Unit 1 and 4 are multiple choice questions everything else is essay based.

I am just worried that my weak answers to m-c-q's could be the difference between an A and a B

I'm sure u'll be fine - its soo easy to lose marks on the essays in the A2 modules with OCR, u have to be sooo specific!!!! Its not too difficult to get the 10 marks but its hard to get the full 15 for the second question!

Im in the same boat thou - worried that im guna end up with a B instead of an A

i do edexcel econ as well. i do kind of see what u mean about the multiple choice.. but perhaps technique will help! i used to be rubbish as well but pulled it up wen i learnt how to answer - state definitions for EVERYTHING cz this will guarantee u sum marks even if ur letter isnt correct. state equations for mathsy parts and show all ur working out and erm... oh yeh if there are graphs for say consumer surplus etc... do arrows on the diagram and stuff i heard examiners like that... am trying to think of more tips...
look at loads of past papers - the more u look at them ull see what kind of thing they are always asking for so u get on the same 'wavelength' as them if that makes any sense!!

dont worry its just exam technique, practice and erm.. knowing the answers :P would u be retaking unit 1 then?

best of luck!
