time is the only healer for getting over someone. if hes told you hes not ready for a gf he either doesnt fancy and doesnt want to hurt you, or has been really messed around in the past and doesnt want to get hurt....trying talking to him...clear the air. if that fails just occupy your mind with something else...it takes time but its great when your truely over someone..been there and done it

I highly doubt you'll be able to change his mind, so nothing you can do about that.

As for getting over him, you just need to give it time. It may well take a VERY long time (from personal experience, it's taken me anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 months to get over someone I REALLY liked) but it will happen eventually.

Its difficult getting over someone you like, but do things to take your mind off it, go out have fun with your mates, give yourself time to cry as well if you're the crying type, just get it out of your system.

Don't waste your energy on him. Have you heard the saying "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink? "

It totally sucks when someone who you really like doesn't want you back. It hurts like hell. But spend a couple of days thinking, moping etc then get back on your feet and find someone else.
