Hi Vickie!
Sorry havent been on this for a while, hence the late reply.

Well just some general advice would be useful.
One thing I always hesitate on is asking questions at the end. I heard its good to ask questions but what should I ask. Im always out of stuff to ask about. Anything I could ask about?

I was going to apply for St Mary's, but fell abit far for me.
Well Ive applied to Roehampton, Anglia Ruskin, Kingston, Middlesex and Greenwich.

Where else have you applied?

Have you already had your interview? I'm currently in my first year at Roehampton doing primary ed

Sorry to hijack the thread but ive got an interview in 2 weeks at Roehampton too! Ive literally just returned from a group interview at Middlesex which proved to be okay i suppose. The on the spot presentation to 8 other candidates (all girls!) and 2 lecturers was a bit daunting but i managed. Roehamptons my first choice though. I understand its a one on one interview as opposed to all this presentation stuff? Any tips? Ive done plenty of research and had some work experience so yeah, anything in the way of details would be great
its BA (Homs) primary ed KS2 - ICT if you were wondering

In the morning you do the English tests and then it moves onto the interviews. I had two people interview me at the same time which was very daunting! As long as you have done the research and know exactly going on with education in the news and show your enthuisiam for teaching you should be fine. I don't think ICT is a popular choice actually! The ICT lecturers are great though  I do Geography KS2. If you have any more questions just ask x

Thats one of the reasons i picked ICT. that and the fact the school i worked at knew NOTHING about their own IT system! I hope its not that unpopular for a reason! It looked good fun to me so lets just hope my interview goes well! How long was it before you heard back? Who knows, i may see you in september!! Thanks for your help  x

Hey, I'm in my second year doing Primary Ed. When I did it, the Enlgish test was editing a text for spelling and grammatical errors. You also had to write about why you chose your specialism. The interview is with a lecturer-be prepared to explain why you chose the course, why you chose the Uni, your experience, qualifications, what you know about teaching (especially in terms of current issues) etc!
Good luck!
It went well. Start with english test. You have to compose a c.250 word passage on why your chosen subject specialism is important. Then edit a small passage of Harry Potter.
Then you are called in to one on one interviews with a lecturer or local teacher. They all seemed very kind and the lady i got was lovely. Its a very 'conversational', casual interview. I was asked about my experience in IT (specialism), why i chose it, why i chose KS2 over KS1 and what work experience ive had/what i learnt from it. Thats it. You hear from them ASAP but it is very dependent on the Governments allocation of teacher 'licenses' handed to universities. They hops to hear by early February at the latest.

Hi Joy,

I had my interview in November. Everybody starts with an exam which is being given 10 sentences and spotting and correcting one mistake in each then other side was 250 words on role of a teacher or something, however that could change. It's more to see your writing and grammar etc  Then you do presentation and then interview. I was relaxed in my interview, they're all really nice. Though I wanted it so badly! So I may have been a little nervous :P Good luck!!
Hi guys!!I have my interview next week at Roehampton University ( Bsc Computing Technologies) any advice or help? Please.
Had a interview for a PGCE so determined to get in, after the interview the lovely lady said ‘good luck and will email you in 1 week or 2 weeks?’left me in a position if I got in or not? How long does it usually takes after the interview to know if you are successful! Hopefully!!

Hi when did you do your interview for your pgce? It usually doesn’t take that long like within 10 days maybe later depending on how many interviews they did. My offer came in 3 days later but don’t be stressed out if you don’t hear too soon. Are you coming from roe or another uni? Good luck for your pgce hopefully you got in
