No one else applying :frown: ?
I originally applied to Plymouth for 2005 entry (by UCAS Clearing) and received an unconditional offer of a place for Year 1 of BEng(Hons) Civil Engineering, but later my entry was deferred to 2006 entry, due to some unavoidable circumstances.

Although my place has been confirmed for 2006 entry, I am not sure whether I can finally enrol in Plymouth, because I'll need to show the British High Commission that I have around GDP 42,000.00 (including total tuition fees & living expenses needed for the entire course) in my (or my parent's) bank account, prior to going to UK. So, if the required fund cannot be arranged before September' 2006, I'll consider joining Plymouth in 2007 directly in Year 3 of my preferred course (if possible) by transferring from my current uni.

Anyway, I wish every applicant all the success in uni application.

Cheers,
Ashique

Plymouth is a dump, you really shouldn't have any trouble getting in, a chimpanzee could, i'd reccomend any other uni, except possibly wolverhampton

LOL Good for me then :p: I haven't been there yet, so I'll see what I think of it if I get an offer :p: I certainly think there are worse places than Plymouth, even tho I've never been

Hey Anne,
I applied to Plymouth on 16th November and got an acceptance letter on 25th November. So that's just over a week. I'm well pleased to have got a place, but I don't know if its actually my first choice or not, depends on where else I get in. I want to do Politics and International relations.

hmm a bit rude i feel!!

Plymouth is most definatly not a dump! Maybe you could expand on this highly descriptive and informative post?

I wouldn't reccomend Plymouth as a Highly academic University, and I think most applicants are not expecting so, as it does not require Oxford and Cambridge type grades for the majrity of the courses. What it does offer is a very well centralised uni location, not split up around the city, a down to earth feel and approach, giving any motivated individual the chance to get a good degree, loads of clubs and socities, as well as lots of great student bars and clubs!

Best thing to do is to visit the place, I know it's hard to guage a place from a day visit, but it will help you to get a general idea and in turn assit in you decision making!

P.S. The Uni-run halls of residence are in my opinion slightly over-priced (although they are in a fantastic location) If you are looking for accomodation in Plymouth and would like a Halls-Style accomdation is to check out Unite (www.unite-students.com) , they are a company that provide 3 Halls of residence locations in Plymouth and I suggest trying to get into the one called 'Discovery Heights' it was new in 2004, very nicely located, and much nicer than the uni ones for the great price!

If you would like any more advice on Plymouth and such, just lemme know!

I got an offer last Friday  I still love the course, I am just a bit put off by all the Plymouth bashing going on. But I will go to one of their Preview days next year and see for myself  What's the city like in general?
