Yes but once the movie starts if you have to talk at least whisper everone else has paid their money to come and watch it.

Talking through the trailers... I can stand it but I'd rather people didn't do it (some members of the audience do want to hear what the trailers have to say) but talking through the movie is just wrong. They should have a special 'talkers' section which is located far away from the rest of us, and people to sit in that area should have to pay double!

The odd comment, chuckle or gasp (though they're rarely audible) is okay. I think most people will say something during a movie if they're with someone, but most have the courtesy to keep it to a minimum and whisper.

It shows a lack of disrespect to other people's viewing pleasure.

And it's felt more during those times when there's a quiet scene(especially at the beginning).
yeah talking/KICKING CHAIRS during the movie is really irritating.

and once the manager of a cinema threatened to throw me and my group of friends out for talking during the adverts  PRICK!

its even worse at the theatre
me and a friend went to see sleeping beauty on ice - all music no talkin
and these 2 kids of about 5 were like
"mummy whos that! mummy its sleeping beauty mummy its the evil queen"
and to make it worse their parents never told them to be quiet and just answered their questions
grr

The funniest occurrance of this phenomena that i have witnessed was during The World is Not Enough - when 'M' knocks the clock off the stool - some chavs in the auditorium shouted "STUPID BITCH" Was annoying but funny in a way.

Back in the day, that was common place.

We used to throw masses of popcorn at peers we took a disliking to. If there were more of us, we'd go for a couple of the adults. The rush was amazing.

But since then, I've grown up.

I sat through Lord of the Rings (can't remember which one) and had a bunch of total bogans (i.e. Aussie Chavs) sitting behind us who whined and moaned the entire way through the movie that they had no idea what was going on cos "none of the chacters spoke english, and they couldn't understand them and had stupid names and why can't they just have normal names like brian and kvein". I have never wanted to yell at someone so much instead, like a wimp, I ignored them.
Um this bloke chatted to me all the way through a film. A good reason to ditch him. It is like saying I am more important than you enjoying your self.

I abosulutely hate people talking in the cinema, but I tend to just put up with it cos I don't wanna come out with popcorn down my top and chav spit in my hair...

On a slightly different note I hate people using those speaker mobile phones on trains and buses. ARGH! Especialy at 7:30am in the morning when you're still nod land.

I have never really noticed anybody talk in the cinemas but screaming babies drive me mad, why not just take them out!

Haha! And on THAT note, sometimes(depending on the amount of sleep I get the previous night) I don't feel like having a conversation with anyone during the mornings.

Or taking an active approach and participating in any seminar sessions.
Once (during a children's film) I watched a six year old stand up and runn towards the screen. She was screaming "I'm gonna punch your balls" to the baddy. Delightful.

if you find people talking a distraction and really want to see the movie then go at a time that there will be not many people there
Argh! Don't get me started on screaming babies. Little brats.
