Most people died, died because of the sanctions, something which both the West and Saddam have to take responsibilty. The only difference was that Saddam never tried to give the impression that he was heading a compassionate, liberal democracy.
no, he gassed his own people and his sons randomly raped girls. so what if they made a mistake in the apst, they should remedy it

Yeah sorry, I did have an absence from this place. I didn't get it either. It's perfectly fine because hopefully I'm going to Manchester! Your next stop?
Nevermind.. we were too good for Girton. Cool- I'm visiting my brother in Manchester after his exams.. sounds like a nice Uni I haven't heard from my other Uni's yet.. but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for LSE and Nottingham.

My family home is in a BNP run ward. Does this make me Nazi racist Alpha Male?

My point exactly. I wanted to see whether he thought so though and understood why people have been voting for the BNP especially where I live.

I like the way that when someone says "with all due respect" they never actually mean it. Or they feel the person is actually due no respect! Just a general observation...

same reason as you.
I regard posting on the board as a sort of educational expierence. I accept that a lot of people on here have different perspectives on things and I find discussing things with them enhances my own understanding. Not only because I get to hear another line of argument but also because the debate helps me to enhance my own. Oh and also, because I'm going to uni in the U.K next year and wanted to talk to some British students.

I can't help feeling your reasons for posting aren't the same as mine.

Errr, hang on a sec, just because you live in a BNP area doesn't mean you voted for them. Voting for them is a different matter entirely...

what Kildare just said.. and also I'm still clinging on (or was until a few posts ago) to the hope that one day you will respect other people's opinions and take a critical look at your own blinkered views

Imitation is the ultimate form of flattery... If you disagree with someone on pretty much everythign why would you want to adopt the same style of argument.
