Recurring acne???

Since the age of 10, I suffered from severe acne, that basically ruined my life. 3 years ago, I was put on Roaccutane and it worked miracles...I haven't had one spot! Anyway, over the past couple of months, spots appear to be appearing. When I was on Roaccutane, my doctor told me it would clear my acne totally. However, I feel it may be creeping back. I'm getting some really sore spots. I do the whole cleanse, tone moisture frequently and I have a good diet.

Basically, I just need to hear what you think....could my acne come back? Also, what else can I do to ensure it doesn't come back???

Thanks x

Try freederm to prevent them from developing (i tried loads of stuff including doctors stuff which didnt work for me). I know its easy for them to get you down, but if you act like they aren't there and that they don't bother you, other people won't notice them, trust me

OKI'm going to sound so so so pathetic for saying this but I have my right...I absolutely refuse to use this. I saw the advert on tv and was absolutely disgusted...spots? what spots? one girl out of the group had one spot. This really got me down and have made a vow not to use it. Went on the website, but there was no contact address.

Will try tea tree oil though

Apparently it's not that uncommon for acne to return after taking Roaccuntane. It's very likely that it will ever be as bad as it was before though. Maybe some simpler treatments such as topical creams or the pill could help you control the recurrence.

When I saw that advert I turned around to the girl sitting next to me and said - "And she thinks she has problems?" ( the girl in the advert with one spot)

The advert was a total joke
a total joke i agree....but i think the joke goes a bit far

Actually yeah that's a good point - these people in the adverts always have the clearest skin imaginable  apart from in that one where the guy's face comes off as a mask, which is just plain weird...

Glad I'm not the only one thinking that about the freederm advert.

That advert probably gave many children nightmares, I mean, you must admit, the face did look really, really unnatural and dare I say scary?
lol  i saw it whilst eating breakfst and went straight onto the internet to find the site!

i've not seen that one  what is it for?
Indeed, it's really creepy! I think it's for some kind of skin product, a cleanser or something, then the guy's old face with bad skin comes off like a mask and journeys around being run over by trucks and the like... His new face is all clear. So far as I remember, anyway. Very odd!

An advert for a skin cream I think, or wipes or something. (A rip off and and a waste of time most likely. The onyl solid product is Roaccutane)

Ahh, thank god my skin is clear, I never want to return to the dark ages of acne. :p:
the concept sounds hilarious but hell scary!!!! for me, not the little kids

If you are worried about your acne coming back, could you maybe go back to your doctor and ask for something to use for it, something thats not as strong as roaccuntane? Im currently using benzamycin cream and although its not brilliant, it has made a difference in the amount of breakouts that I have.

Tbh I don't really want to go back to the doctor. I was on benzamycin and my skin became immune to it... i had antibiotics and loads of other things, so I don't want to go through the effects of all that again.

I went on Roaccutane, and it worked amazingly - completely clear skin for about a year afterwards. Mine have also started coming back, but not remotely as bad. My GP told me from the first that some people have to do two courses of it to get lifelong clear skin, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Have you tried accutane? Or is your acne not bad enough for that. They'll be loads of strong creams you can get from the doctor or dermatologist. Benzamycin gel is good. woops just read your post above lol

Did roaccutane have any really bad side effects on you who used it? I heard some ppl start losing their hair and that it just makes your skin so dry it hurts. Stuff like that. Also, many ppl seem to be really reluctant to take it, because it's so strong ?! I like the idea of really clear skin for life, but all these creepy talk about roaccutine scares me  Also, my skin isn't bad enough so that I don't think I'd get it. I just break out sometimes and it annoys me. I guess it's normal, but I just see some of my friends who have COMPLETELY clear skin and then it annoys me and I want a wonderdrug like roa lol

thats the whole point of those adverts- they can't exactly do an advert with a person with really severe acne. (Well I can't imagine that)

Well it is actually the bacteria that evolve a resistance to the antibiotic. Unfortunatly thats what they do. But if you keep switching between different antibiotics you should get results again. I'd go back to the doctor if i was you.
