im no medic but i can still tell you that it might not necessarily be cancer. he better get it checked out though...

Most testicular lumps are not cancerous, although the sensible thing is for him to make an appointment to see his GP.

No, but it could be benign.

Even if it is benign, then it could still cause problems. It's best if he goes to someone to get it checked out, then if there's nothing to worry someone can tell him so.
