As both ugliness and chaviness are negative qualities, which one would you be, if you had the choice?

I think chaviness is worse, since chavs are at the bottom of the social structure. An ugly person can still be successful, or contribute a lot to the world around them.

They aren't exactly comparable traits... but I'd rather be ugly.
Not really a fan of the word "chav".

Circular argument. You've answered your own question.

    Fallacy.

It's possible to stop being a chav at will. It's harder to stop being ugly.
    Therefore, chav.

it's hard to stop living in a council house, or have six children and scrounge on benefits. Most people who advance in wealth only do so through skill or luck. Not everybody has those.

If for some reason I lived like that, I could still stop being a chav at any time.

But, during the period you are a chav, you could be doing something productive such as studying, or working, and also you would possibly have had a negative effect on someones life in that time.

    I'm far from it.

In truth, if one was born a chav, wouldn't they kill themselves? I'd rather be ugly, since sex/dating is socially constructed. Part of life is also contributing and having a positive effect on the world, which chavs by and large do not. One's position in life dictates a lot, getting sex and dates, well not really.

Yeah but ugliness is both subjective and (mostly) genetic. Being a chav is more do with living standards/ antisocial behaviour/ peer pressure/ personal choices etc.

Is the option to either be an ugly person or be a good looking chav?
Because if I could be a good looking chav, I could go on some talent show, singing with a below average voice, win, become famous, marry a footballer (or the equivalent), become a judge on another talent show, and live a life of luxury.

Nothing is really relative. And I think being a chav is genetic also.
