I was thinking Death Cab and Follow you into the dark

"Love of mine some day you will die
    But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
    If heaven and hell decide
    That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
    When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark"

    But then Nick Cave

"I don't believe in an interventionist God
But I know, darling, that you do
But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him
Not to intervene when it came to you
Not to touch a hair on your head
To leave you as you are
And if He felt He had to direct you
Then direct you into my arms

    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms

And I don't believe in the existence of angels
But looking at you I wonder if that's true
But if I did I would summon them together
And ask them to watch over you
To each burn a candle for you
To make bright and clear your path
And to walk, like Christ, in grace and love
And guide you into my arms

    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms

    And I believe in Love
And I know that you do too
And I believe in some kind of path
That we can walk down, me and you
    So keep your candlew burning
And make her journey bright and pure
    That she will keep returning
    Always and evermore

    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms, O Lord
    Into my arms"

There are fewer more distressing sights than that
Of an Englishman in a baseball cap
And we'll die in the class we were born
But that's a class of our own my love

Time for heroes - The libertines

    Anything by pete Doherty really.
Also Bob Dylan of course, couldn't pick a single lyric, the greatest 20th century poet.

Echoes, Wish You Were Here and Eclipse by Pink Floyd.

Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes
inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning

Technically, yeah. But the Gary Jules version shows off the lyrics more, the Tears for Fears version is kinda faster and you can't tell the what the lyrics are so much. But yes, hey were original and so should be the one we credit

"I never dream of times like these, when all my time is never free, and every tear-drawn face we see is hung on you and me. I'm hypnotised by all the lies and all the twisted alibis, but haunted by the quiet sighs of the one who waits for me."

    Well, as an example;

'As I sit here frozen alone
even ghosts get tired and go home
as they crawl back under the stones'

Also, I love Editors 'An End Has A Start' album - Well Worn Hand is so simply beautiful, as well as Push Your Head Towards the Air.

    Shadowplay - Joy Division:

In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more,
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor,
And with cold streel, odour on their bodies mad a move to connect,
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left.

Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before - The Smiths:

    I was delayed, I was way-laid
    An emergency stop
I smelt the last ten seconds of life
I crashed down on the crossbar
And the pain was enough to make
    A shy, bald, buddhist reflect
    And plan a mass murder
Who said lied I'd to her?
