If it's anything like his last album i deffo won't bother getting it. Also i heard one of his dubstep tunes and it was bloody terrible. So any point me getting it? Why can't he go back his Get Scraped days....

I'm the same, his last album was poor... very poor. He's one of the few DJ's I actually like along with Fat Boy Slim and Wolfgang Gartner because they all move away from the 'typical DJ'. But yeh it would have to be something special to make me buy it.

On the whole it's a lot stronger album than 'For lack of a better name', although nothign will top strobe. It can already be classed as much more of a success, the likes of some chords, I said and Animal rights (ft Wolfgang Gartner) have all already had huge support from other DJ's and all dominated charts like beatport on their release.

Cthulhu Sleeps, Raise your weapon and Everything Before are quality tracks.

    When is it out?

Tbh, i didn't think for lack of a better name actually was that bad. It was just overshadowed by his first album.

The final studio version leaked a couple of days ago. Sounds so mcuh better in proper quality compared to the set rips that have been on youtube.

Fairly safe to assume you dont really understand or appreciate the genre if you find strobe boring. It's been probably the most featured track on recent dance compilations over the past 12 months, and it's easily one of the best tracks I've heard live.

I'm sure there'll be a Guetta thread or soemthing knocking about for you somehwere.

He should stick to progressive house/electro and leave dubstep to Doctor P, Flux, Rusko, Trolley, Skrill etc

David Guetta is actually awful, no joke. deadmau5 is definitely better than him. Doesn't say much that doesn't.

I love house music. True to say there are a lot better house artists these days than deadmau5. That said, house music today isn't flourishing. Daft Punk blew deadmau5 away after being away for 5 years with just 1 song in Derezzed. Saying that i would only rate 2 house music artists this decade highly and that is DP and Justice. The likes of Mylo, SebastiAn, MSTRKRFT, and majority of stuff on Ed banger's label are pretty good but not on the same level.

I have listened to Strobe 5 times in the hope i was missing something but i wasted 40 minutes of my life there as there was nothing there. It's pretty soulless and he isn't a very good producer. Also he takes the piss with djing. A **** load of money for a really small set of his i have heard.

End of the day he is not more than average, though he did show a lot of promise with Get Scraped (production wasn't very good albeit then too) but the promise was there with a very large variety of songs in there, not this dire progressive house getting played atm.

General rule of the thumb i have found is that most deadmau5 fans know bugger all further field over house music or just know anything about music in general. From what i have seen with people who think it's popular to rave about him.

His dubstep was actually worse than theirs which is saying something as it's almost hard not to get dubstep to sound as good as theirs as it is all pretty damn generic when the wobble is used. Burial type dubstep is way better, and i'm surprised that deadmau5 wouldn't realise this but i guess he's just after getting more fans.

While some people cry they are "commerical" dubstep, I like their music and have insane respect for them since most them only use Albino/Massive with no hardware synths and yet produce full, powerful mixes.

It isn't bad at the end of the day but being in Bristol you hear it all the time and it gets really samey after a while! Basically i can't really listen to an album of that type of dubstep on my speakers (which can handle the sound easily being pretty high end) and for me if you can't perfect an album as an artist then you are missing the most attribute an artist has, alongside good dj'ing/live shows.

You can't say people who like deadmau5 are clueless yet you list really heavily commercialised artisits that are much more electro than anything. His progressive house is good as is he a good producer, your obviously don't really know what you are going on about.

Don't matter if it's commercialised music at the end of the day. Doesn't make it bad.

I never said people who like deadmau5 are clueless. A lot of the people who like him that i met are pretty clueless with music and it seems now like it makes you cool if you like him. Obviously not the case with everyone. He's not bad as i said, but his progressive stuff is just average. He had potential but i think as a producer he isn't that good as people make him out to be. All i said was to spark this argument was that Strobe is a deeply average tune. I never really said much else. End of day he completely doesn't deserve the hype going around him. A lot much more talented acts out there who are worthy of the praise end of day!

I know but that's all it is, it has no real effect on the house scene. You never hear house DJ's dropping the likes of Justice and Mylo. Most house producers don't release artists albums but they are far more influential and appreciated. You sound like one of those people who voted for Justice in top 100 DJ poll recently and manage to sneak them into 96th place somehow. Shouldn't have been anywhere near.
