Just wanted to know if there are any other uni students out there who suffer from reccurent cold sore outbreaks and your experiences with this such as how you deal with it medically/herbally but MAINLY how it affects your social dating life?
Seriously is there anyone else with reccurent coldsores HSV1 out there? Watch

Yes, i get them all the time, well mainly when i'm stressed out and run down as thats when they strike. They are easily treated, get some Zovirax or virasorb or another cream containing aciclovir and apply 5 times a day as soon as you feel a cold sore coming (usually distinguishable by the tingling and then the formation of a painful spot)...if you stick to it and catch it as eary as possible it doesnt often go to the full blown stage.
With regards to the social bit, whether your male or female, a little concealer or foundation on the area will do the trick to cover it up. Avoid kissing as thats how it spreads. Don't worry about them, they're suprisingly common, but once you get one you will get them for the rest of your life.
hope that helps.

As above, Zovirax. I've never tried them but I saw advertised those little patches you can put over coldsores, then cover with makeup to hide them. I'm not sure how effective they are but worth a shot. They do always seem to come up when I want to go somewhere, or when I'm going to meet my mother for the first time in months so she can tell me I'm not looking after myself
