Hey everyone. I know this forum is Investment and Banking and I apologize for intruding.. It's just that you guys are the most qualified to answer the question I have and will give the best tips. So forgive me.

I just got an email to tell me I've been invited to take the phone interview for the Centrica summer placement. It's an assessment and consists of a competency-based interview.

Was just wondering what the best things I can do to prepare for it and what I can expect? Thanks in advance everyone, appreciate it.

Might've been better putting this in the finance and accounting section assuming you've applied to finance?

I'd imagine they'd ask about when you've been in a team situation, how you would lead a team etc.

Might ask a bit about the company, why you want to work for them, why you are interested in finance etc.

I've put some stuff on here, but there is a lot of stuff on answering competency-based questions on google - have a look for the STAR model as that is the best way to answer questions in a structured manner (Situation - Task - Action - Result)

Thanks for that guys, I will take a look. Most of this seems to be preperation.

No worries dude, most of it is down to preperation. Just google the kinds of questions you will be asked for the area you're applying for and plan some answers, even if the exact question doesn't come up it gets you into the right frame of mind for answering them.
