Hi I am yet to take my A2 exams in January and the summer and am applying for uni's atm. I got 4 C's at AS but am resitting most things and am wondering if any local (ish) universities offer access routes? I know Newcastle offers a partners scheme and was wondering if Northumbria offers anything like this as I am desperate to go to Newcastle Uni to study psychology but not sure if I will get the A grades! Any help/ advice is much appreciated! I live in Middlesbrough aswell.

I don't think Northumbria does. But i'm not 100% sure.

I was under the impression that the partners scheme is designed to help those with lesser grades to get into top uni's.......northumbria is an ex-poly so I doubt it would do it. But don't take my word for it.........I could be wrong

Hmm I was offered something for Northumbria, but I can't tell you what it was called, because I wasn't interested in it. The partners scheme is for certain schools isn't it? I know my school comes under it, so check to make sure your school does. If your interested in local unis you could look at Teeside, Sunderland and possibly Cumbria as well to make sure you have C requirement places

Yeah I'm applying for sunderland I think and if i get an offer will most probably put it as my insurance. I know teesside uni now has a partnership thing with newcastle to improve it but I really want to move away! and yeah my school is in the partners scheme but whereas some courses drop the requirements by 3 grades, psychology only drop it by one! argh, maybe i'll have to go to sunderland as its sort of half way between home and Newcastle! Thanks for your help, if you can, please try and find out about Northumbria!
