I'm into my first year but im currently on a non-means tested loan of around £3600and was working to get the rest of my money to survive as the £3600 just covers the rent for halls but i recently quit my job as it was clashing with course and i had to make the decision to leave..
i want to change over to a means tested loan but have a few questions..

    1) how much is a means tested loan and can i get any other grants/loans to increase the amount i get along with the loan?
2)how much is the means tested loan compared to the non means tested?
3)how long will it take to change over?
4)can i change over this year or will i have to wait until the next year as my payments for the non means tested have been approved?
5)would i get a back payment like EMA or will it just start from scratch?
6)How do i change over and is it easy....?

Any links to forms or other info would be a great help... thanks in advance

EMA is not available to uni students and is ending in JUly for everyone anyway.
