# C1/C2 Help needed !!! Watch

1. Hi, what steps would I do to work out the following question:

the curve y=ax^2 + bx passes through the point (4,5) and, at the point where x=1. it has a gradient 1.

Find the values of a and b.

Find the values of a and b.
Substitute the values x = 4 and y = 5 into the equation of the curve. This forms equation 1.

Differentiate the equation of the curve and substitute x = 1 and dy/dx = 1. This forms equation 2.

Solve 1 and 2 simultaneously.
