Please help! Rate equation question

Hi, Im currently planning my coursework for A level chemistry.

My title is "Kinetics of the reaction between iodine and propanone" i am using sulphuric acid as a catalyst.

I need to know the rate equation of this reaction as i cannot find it anywhere and will need to check my results to the actual equation.
If anyone knows the answer - please help!

Thanks, Sara x

There is a new website called 'google' which could be of assistance.

I have just done a search for your question and got the answer in approximately 2 minutes.

I think you could too

Couldn't be clearer..

1. enter 'iodine and propanone' into google

You will see 10 links on the first search results page.

Read them one at a time, no dammit, I feel generous...

Link number 2 tells you the order with respect to acid and propanone.

Link number 4 gives you the whole equation

Link number 6 gives you the order with respect to acid and propanone

--------------------------------------------------

Alternatively enter "iodine and propanone rate equation"

and the very first result gives you the rate equation.

Now, was that so hard... months work?

... don't make me laugh

Well, according to your own words (OP) you ""need the rate equation" for the reaction between iodine and propanone.

This is of the form:

Rate = k[I2]x[CH3COCH3]y[H+]z

And if you could be bothered to actually read the links that you have been given you would see the equation explained and the orders given...

.. but if you can't even be ars*d to read them then too bad.

Your loss lady. :getmecoat:

Well, much as I'd like to hang around and engage in a meaningless slagging match, I'm afraid life's too short.

So like I said before ...
