Uhm, I guess you cannot totally avoid judging someone based on their looks. At least not if the person's look lean heavily into a certain style. But yet, it's always just what you notice at first sight, you should still be open-minded and approach that person without any preconceptions. Personally, I sometimes expect someone to be a person I'd really dislike and then when you get to know them, they're totall different, you never know.

I find glasses very attractive on some people, btw

Thats exactly how i approach people, sure i may think they COULD be a certain attitude when i see what they wear but i would reserve judgment until i know them more.

You never know. You might be. Anyhow, glasses would never be a factor for me to judge someone lol That's ridiculous

Anne your going into my buddy list now

Awww  Thanks :p: I haven't even got a buddy list so far  I didn't know what it's for lol

I guess glasses just make people look smart and of course some glasses can be rather attention-drawing lol But in general, I wouldn't say someone is a geek or boring BECAUSE of his glasses. There would have to be more to his looks than just glasses to indicate that. And some people look geek-ish without wearing any glasses, too. It's just stupid to generalize. It's like the blonde thing lol I'm a blonde, doesn't mean I'm stupid  lol

Night now !

At the end of the day, you know whether you fancy someone or not. I'll take one look at a guy, go, "No, I don't fancy you" and not even give him a chance.

On the other hand, my ex-boyfriend is quite skinny, with ginger hair and wears glasses a lot. He's a maths student and he looks exactly like one. And yet, I still find him irresistible...

Some people just do it for you. The rest of the world doesn't.

I think the trouble is that when you first set eyes on someone, appearance is all you have to go on. Sometimes you form positive opinions of them which turn out to be wrong rather than bad ones (that's what usually happens to me; I always think everyone's really nice when I first meet them).
You have to kind of override that instinct to garner first impressions before they have opened their mouths and you get to know them a little bit.

You form an opinion of someone within three seconds of seeing/meeting them. Its part of our survival insinct.
Anyway - I do it. I openly admit it, I look at people and judge them. Normally its just chavs I look at and judge. I dont seem to judge any other group of people. But I do it far too often.

Is it just me that is getting annoyed at the way alot of people seem to judge a book by its cover these days???
For example this is what i find happens alot

If you wear glasses = Oh he/she must be a boring out and out geek

Anyone who looks or dresses remotley like a rapper = "He must be a thug" or with some people " Oh he must be a hard exciting bad boy"

Quite: if you're going to hate me then hate me not for the stigma of my heritage, but for the content of my character. (Because that way, at least, you'll have assumed a credible moral stance.)

It's only human nature to judge people by appearances, it may be sad but it's true. Plus, I've always thought it unfair to go out with someone you're not attracted to. I mean, how can you hope to have a good relationship if there's no physical attraction there.

Why do you think a couple must consummate their marriage?

I have to admit that I, like everyone else, judge strangers based on appearances.

A lot of "geeky" people have surprised me by failing school and partying all the time while the "non-dorky" ones get A+'s on their exams. It does surprise me.

But hey, it's human nature.

However, I have found that judging people based on appearances does generally work when deciding who is or is not in a sorority/fraternity or who is in a "joke" major. Otherwise, it doesn't.
