Urgent help with an equation!

Does anyone know how to rearrange this exponential equation to find the value of x. i have put in all the known values:

50/100 = 2.718 to the -0.2733x

Need to work out x. i am expecting it to be 2.55.

any help greatly appreciated!!!

If you have a calculator which you can do logablog_{a}b then its just:

log2.7180.5=0.6932190565=0.2733x[br]x=2.536476606log_{2.718}0.5 = -0.6932190565 = -0.2733x[br]x = 2.536476606

It is valid rearranging to take log2.718log_{2.718} of both sides, because that is in inverse function of 2.718x2.718^x

If you do not have a calculator with that function, then you can do:
log2.7180.5=ln(0.5)ln(2.718)=0.6932190565log_{2.718}0.5 = \dfrac{ln(0.5)}{ln(2.718)} = -0.6932190565 and then continue as above.
