I currently have a student account that I applied for in September, although since then I have dropped out of my course and university and have applied to go somewhere else for a different course next year.

I was wondering if anyone else has been in this situation, and what you did with your student account? I am going to university again next year but my new course is a year longer, and also I have this gap year now so I will need a student account for 2 years longer than I would have, and what they have me down on the systems to need one for.

Do I keep the account? What do I do?

I quit around this time last year and I still use mine.

I'll probably have to apply for a new one if I go back just to make sure that it lasts the duration.

Do nothing now. It will remain as a student account, as the bank won't know that you've changed.

Once you start at your new uni, take your registration letter to the bank, and they'll be able to amend your course end date on the system to the new one. Then it'll stay as a student account until the end of your new course.

This, except my bank said that I just have to write to them when I get to the end of my old course (2013) so they know I still have a year to go on my new course.
