I have no idea what to buy my mother for christmas, she is REALLY hard to shop for.
The ONE thing I know she does need is a new coat. She's had her old one for about 10 years! she is not very fashion- conscious.
I am not sure whether this would be a good idea as obviously clothing is the type of thing you really need to try on. She's 1-2 sizes bigger than me and we are both a similar body shape ... so I could get away with trying the coats on myself I guess?
I guess the next option would be clothes vouchers... but I'd have no idea which store to buy from or how much to buy because coats can vary so much in price.

Get her a coat you think will fit her based on you trying it on. If she's not very fashion conscious then it's probably best to get quite a plain black coat or something, similar to whetever she has now but nicer. I have found H&M to be great for coats - they have such a huge variety and they're all quite simple, not too expensive either. That means if the coat you choose doesn't fit she can go back and swap it for one that does
