:ditto: -ish...

if i went to India right now, i doubt i'd be able to settle because A) i don't like the place and B) i'll have no friends and C) i'll stand out by what i wear...
even though my dad's side of the family lives there...

your kinda thing happened to me when i moved from Sweden to the UK...
What made you go to Asia? Did family take you there or did you genuinely want to go yourself? Time will eventually help but it is tough at first....I always found listening to radio stations from home on the net and joining chat forums from home really helped

Hi,

It's a bit different, but I was living in America for 3 months this summer, I'd go along with the person that said listening to radio shows from home really help... as do looking at international chat rooms and things from home on the internet.

Also, try intergrating yourself into the community you've moved into, do you have a job? are you at uni? if you're studying, try and get involved in some societies, there may well be a society for international students and there should always be someone on hand to help you settle in. If you're not at uni, try looking for a job, this'll help you meet people and also give you something to do.

Try also joining a sports club, or a hobby club that interests you. The more people you meet and get to know, the more this strange little island will begin to feel less intimidating.

Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.
well, I am doing Au-pair now in Sweden, and I am here for almost 3 monthes...for the 1st 1-2 monthes evrth was sooo good, I had lots of emotions, and felt happy, didnt miss my friends and mother...just missed my Bf a bit...but for the last weeks I feel soooo sad..I am depressed a bit...and last week cryed every day...I started to miss home and Bf and mom...so it is kind of hard..but I am sure it is just a perid, and you need to be strong to get over it, I mean in some time perosn juts addapts. Anywas, my mom is comming to visit on this Sat. and then my BF is comming =) So, I am keeping my self good for now.
Try to make yourself busy with something...so you will have less time for sad thoughts =) and cheer up!!!
