    Currently holding offers for:

    Philosophy - Leeds

    Philosophy - Sheffield

    Economics & Philosophy - Sheffield

Is there any point differentiating between Sheffield and Leeds as universities/regarding Philosophy as a department or should I make the choice purely on preference of city?

    Any advice appreciated, cheers.

Sheffield is very highly ranked for its research and in international tables, in fact it punches very much above its position in the Times & Guardian tables.

I agree with the latter post. Sheffield is a good choice.

Both Leeds and Sheffield are really good, but i hear that Sheffield's harder to get into, so if you were offered a place at Sheffield, it might be more of an achievement getting that offer.
