    Guys,

    What is your opinion on the situation:

    A friend has signed a contract (IBD full-time) with a European bulge bracket bank CS/UBS/DB, but recently got a call from Morgan Stanley regarding 1st round interview. What would you do

    1) tell MS right away that you have signed a contract and that you want to come to the interview, but just wanted to let them know

    OR

    2) just go to the interview without telling them about the signed contract?

    Would you rather work for MS or for the EU BB?

    MS --> GO to interview
    EU BB --> Do NOT go to interview

    Seems that you'd rather work for MS, so go and don't tell anyone about your other offer.

    I would keep my mouth shut. The City is not that big, and the guy at MS may well be aware that they are done with recruiting at EU BB or has a mate there in HR... then he would need to choose between not giving a **** and handing you an offer or screwing you over.

    Tiny odds but massive downside.

    Go interview, and tell them (to hurry up and give you an offer because) you've already got an offer from another bank. Standard.

    Don't say you've signed but you can say you've received offers from wherever.

    This. Even if it was a 0.01% chance, why would you risk it.

    It's no big deal, if they ask you can tell them you have got an offer signed but you would rather work for MS so that is why you are here.

    I had an MS offer signed for about 2 months whilst still interviewing at other places, if they asked I told them and it was not a problem - and probably helped me as it showed i was more genuine about applying to that other bank seeing as i already had an offer.

    Just whatever you do... don't lie! Thats how you will end up screwing yourself over.

    Even if he told the other bank they aren't going to pull your offer are they... it's not part of the contract "you shall not interview with other banks". They don't really give a ****.
