M31 - Homosexuality freedoms, Rt Hon. Nothos
This house unequivocally supports the rights of homosexual people to go about their day-to-day lives without the fear of persecution and in some instances execution for their sexuality.

Therefore this House finds the recent UN vote to remove the international protection for homosexuals against being executed simply on the basis of their sexuality a complete injustice against the principles of freedom we hold so dear.

It's difficult to find solid information on this. I finally managed to track down primary documents after a while looking:

    Draft resolution:
    http://www.ishr.ch/component/docman/...ga-65-l29-rev1

    Draft amendment:
    http://www.ishr.ch/component/docman/...-amendment-l65

To be fair, the emphasis on sexual orientation seemed a bit out of place, but I can still support its inclusion. It seems though that the amended draft still demonstrates the same thing, referring as it does to any sort of discrimination.

Still, this is well worth an 'aye' vote - I just hope that other members actually investigated the background to this.
