Hey guys, I'm deferred entry to do Psych at NTU and am getting to a point where I'll have to start thinking about accomodation etc.

Now, I know all of the city halls are non-smoking, but for anyone who lives there currently, are the shared kitchens fitted with smoke or heat alarms and if heat alarms, is it like other universities where the residents happily smoke in them and just flick the butts out the window? I ask because as someone who is used to smoking 20 a day in the house I don't fancy running up and down stairs non stop to help the cravings (as if I could with 20-a-day lungs!)

    Cheers.

Most of the halls have heat alarms in bedrooms and kitchens and smoke alarms in the hallway. If you want uni halls in the city that u can get away with smoking in you would probably have to go for hampden. Gill street have window restrictors and only open about two inches and sandy windows are very small too.

they all have heat detectors in.
my block mates cover them up with a sock when they want to smoke in their rooms and put the ash in a can.
