google it. There is a heap of stuff on message boards, incl whether or not it causes depression etc. But couldn't find much scientific evidence.

Know any short people with fab skin?
Stunt growth? Not in my experience but i got depression as a result of being on it - ok for some, not so much for others, id say best to avoid drugs if you can - theres can be alternatives - healthy natural alternatives...
Nobody likes midgets who complain about their height, get over it.
It stunted my growth, I'm a 6'2 dwarf

It does if you kill yourself. Then you don't grow at all.
who said anything about growth in height?!?!?!?!?!
perhaps stunt growth in particular body parts (you get what I'm saying?)

You mean the penis, I think.

Either that, or there might be something wrong with my toes.

is there a study showing it does..?

i dont think there is..but some people do think that it does,
and I am not short just wouldn t mind growing a little more.
perhaps it varies..... like depression, depression happens in a few cases, therefore stunted growth maybe on similar lines

Generally, they put people on roaccutane as a last resort. My friend's on it and there is loads of information on possible side affects inside the perscription box itself. She's been religiously reciting them for months but nothing about stunted growth springs to my mind, mainly there's problems with depression and all of the awful things it can do to unborn children (but then again, you're a bloke so I guess that isn't particularly relevant )

yeah..... accutane already puts a lot of straign on the liver, drinking alcohol would just destroy it.

I had roaccutane a long time ago. I'm 6"1 and well built. I don't think it stunts growth.

Just don't drink when you're on it and have lip balm handy for dry lips.

(I happened to be interested in looking up accutane, I'm not on it now, but I'm considering it.)
Therefore the following info should be useful...

accutane alone can cause liver damage including clinical hepititis, therefore if you drink alcohol or take lots of vitamin A supplements this would just put you in more risk.

'Acute and chronic liver diseases can interfere with the proper functions of the liver and cause symptoms. However, the liver is a strong organ and it usually takes a substantial amount of damage before the disease interferes with the liver?s functions and causes symptoms.'

Some diseases of the liver caused by Accutane include:
- Hepatotoxicity; a state of toxic damage to the liver
- Hepatitis; on going injury to the cells of the liver with inflammation. Causes of Hepatitis include viruses, abnormalities and medications
- Cirrhoses; a group of chronic liver diseases in which normal liver cells are damaged and replaced by scar tissue. This decreases the amount of normal liver tissue and the liver's ability to function properly.
- Fatty Liver; an accumulation of fat cells in the liver

Symptoms of liver damage or diseases include:
Upper abdominal discomfort
- Jaundice
- Bleeding or easy bruising
- Swelling of the legs
- Fatigue
- Loss of Appetite
- Aching joints

I hope you're not drinking alcohol (if you're on accutane)

Causes depression I heard. Some bloke who used it killed himself. Eat some chocolate while you use it and you'll be fine.

I dont know of any research that examines stunted growth and the drug. But it lists LOADS of possible side effects. It has to do this to protect the company legally and doesnt always correspond with medical research providing any conclusive data.

I got dry skin and lips. thats it, and i drunk alcohol on roaccutane with no ill effects. even the doctor said you can continue to dirnk if you keep it to around 2 pints or less (equivelent) everytime you go out. BUT ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THE ALCOHOL
