Don't be late (be a little early if you can), look smart if you're required to, be enthusiastic, be polite. All the usual stuff really.

What job is it?

Is it a gap year job, or you've finished uni, or it's after GCSEs?

I'm currently working in my gap year, i'd rather be on holiday doing exciting stuff that people do in their gap year - it feels like a bit of a waste of a year. What have you been doing for the rest of your gap year?

I kind of did the opposite of most people's gap years - I've been travelling, sightseeing and visiting relatives for 3 months up till the end of November - found some temp work, and only now after all my money's been blown am I looking for work
yeah sometimes when there's nowt to do, i feel like the gap has been a waste... but I think I've got better at talking to random people about random things like the weather so I think that's been beneficial...

thanks everyone for all your comments. It should be good fun, I'm looking forward to it.

My boss-to-be told me it's a flexi-full time job, ie i make up the time required how I like. I still wanna continiue my driving lessons (during lunch times maybe)... when would be a good time to ask him about this? Obviously not on the first day... yes?

I haven't done anything exciting in my gap year...yet. I think i finish work in June so i may go on long vacation to somewhere for a few months. Or maybe i'll quit my job and find a way to become rich this year so i don't have to go to university.

Is this your first job/experience in a work-place?

Don't be late, and make a good impression on your first day. Learn as much as you can, and if any mistakes occur, learn from them quickly and try not to make the same one again.

yep - I've done one data inputting job for a temp agency, but that doesn't really count imo.
