I dyed my hair last night using one of those XXL Live colours, it was a bright red one. It shines red in the light but it still looks brown but just with a reddish tone. I had brown hair previously that was quite dark as it has been dyed before.

How do I go about getting my hair redder? If I put another bright red hair dye on it, would this make it redder or not?

You should have pre-lightened your hair using a pre-lightener. It doesn't matter if the pre-lightener turns your hair a gingery/copper shade as you will by dying over it anyway. This is the only way for you to achieve a more dramatic result.

Could always try henna hair dye, I'm thinking of getting some this week because I'm having the same problem!

Plus, you don't have to use it all at once, so you can save some to do your roots when it grows out.
