I can have a good time without drinking, and would definitely rather drive home than have to get an early train. (Not that I have a car any more. :frown:) On the whole I prefer to be able to drink, if I can. I don't get that drunk, just happily tipsy.

I usually have more than what is recommended.

Staying sober, surrounded by drunk people is not a scenario I'd wish on anyone. I drink for the rush and elation, but not to the point of losing control. The main thing really is knowing when to call it a night.

Basically If im going out and im not drinking but all of my mates are, it is really boring. Everybody is laughing and joking at things which when drunk are real funny, but when you are sober u just don’t find half the things funny. If everyone was sober it would be fine. But me not drinking on a night out just means I wont have as much of a laugh.

I never go out for the main purpose of getting so drunk I cant remember my name by the end of the night but I do get very drunk because im having such a laugh with mates etc.

I usually get fairly drunk. I have a couple at my flat then a few more down at the union. I stop before I get too bad though. I never throw up or pass out or anything like that (most of the time anyway) :p:

I drink a lot usually if its a houseparty or whatnot, but I rarely if ever become drunk. Im fairly large you see, and can drink a lot without too much bother...

You don't need to drink to have a good time... well I don't think so anyway.

One thing about being sober when ppl around you are drunk is watching what idiots they are being...Its quite entertaining! I can also see what you mean about being with ppl who are drunk who find everything funny when you don't...not much fun

I drink a bit, not to the point where I'm puking violently and can't remember it the next day but enough to make me giggly, hyper and more open. Although too much sugar has the same affect on me.
Course I have been completely blind drunk a few times but I just prefer being tipsy.

i can go out and not drink and have a really good time, its perfectly do-able

but on the whole i tend to go out and drink until im sick or get kicked out, or pull.
personally i prefer to be at the point where your completely off your face, but just before you start throwing up, the only thing i dont like is when you cant remember anything cos i tend to have really interesting convos when im drunk

my mate used to drive us to the pub and she would be on coke and i would be getting slaughtered, i soon reliased what a dangerous and silly game i was playing not only did i end up going off wid blokes i only just met but i used to argue with my mate alot because she got bored of being in the pub and had to be home by like 10.30 and once i stayed wid a guy she worked wid and i relised how much of a fool i made of myself!!

How do you know you've had interesting convos if you can't remember??

Thats one of the things that worries me about drinking...the safety issue i.e doing things that you wouldn't do when sober, date rape.....quite scary to end up somewhere you don't know and not be with anyone you know...

Being 15 doesn't usually stop ppl getting drunk....in fact it seems to be quite the opposite for some. They seem to be the worst for abusing their drink!

drink to lose some of your inhibitions, not to change who you are beyond recognition.
