    Hello,

I've massively screwed up during my first year in Durham and I've got 58% average resulting in 2.2 . Should I still bother with applying to IB and consulting internships as I assume I will be insta rejected whenever they ask me for first year results? Any internships in other sectors possible with 2.2 in first year?

Just predict yourself a 2.1 then you wont get auto-filtered. Some banks do ask for a transcript of first year exams not sure which.

Ok, clear then, hope it goes well, with 58% and considering i didn't put any effort into first year it is not unreasonable to predict myself 2.1 degree, hope they see it.

Don't mention it to them unless they SPECIFICALLY ask :P which I don't think they will... and also, ask your tutor to predict you a 2.1? Explain reasons why, and I'm hoping you've stepped it up a gear this semester and produced even 1st class results in assignments or tests you may have as proof.

Yeah, there are several ways around it, still apply.
What degree are you doing, out of curiosity?

I know several people who have internships with a 2.2, one even got several interviews coming from a non target uni, so it is more than possible. Im pretty sure most people predict themselves a 2.1 anyways so you'll be fine!

My friend got an offer from BofA yesterday.

Hes failed about 5 modules in the past 2 years and got 2.2 in first two years of his degree.

He only put his 2 highest grades out of 16 on the application form. Dont know what will happen during his background checks though.
