    referring to males here.

i've searched the internet, and apart from yahoo answers and other random forums where people are giving conflicting opinions, i've not got a straight answer.

from what i can gather and my own knowledge, testosterone rises when you get aroused, during the act of sex or masturbation. then when you climax, it decreases.

what are the long term effects on testosterone levels?

all other things being equal, will a person who has sex/masturbates a lot have higher average testosterone levels than someone who never does those things?

does it make any difference whether its sex or masturbation?

preferably someone who does a Biology/Medicine degree can help me out.

In my group of friends we have a test we refer to as the "fap test". It has two iterations as follows:

    1) Are you missing your girlfriend? Have a ****, now ask the question again? If the answer is not anymore, she has failed the faptest.

    2) Do you really fancy that girl or are you just desperate? **** thinking of nothing but her in the missionary position. If you can't or start thinking of other girls / scenarios, she has failed the faptest.

In conclusion, this has nothing to do with the thread but is awesome anyway.

On topic - International sports teams usually impose a moratorium on sex/****ing before big games. They obviously buy into the whole 'lower testosterone after sex' theory.

...or merely that frustration causes aggression.

Well, I've heard that bashing one off a lot/having lots of sex will make your sexual desire increase. However, I don't think this is true. The longer you don't ***, the more gagging for it you normally are..?

It's true that your testosterone levels go down. So true, in fact, that I was a chronic masturbater and now have C-cup boobs and a feminine voice.

True for sex, not true for masturbation.

aggression and testosterone are very closely linked
except that there's no real change based on abstinence.
