Maybe you heard something or read on newspapers: Italy is going to **** because of the government, and people don't properly realize how bad the situation is (unless they are directly involved in the problems, as students, professors, and poor people are). This is due to the almost complete control that Berlusconi has on our press and tv channels. The few free medias are so directly insulted by berlusconi's ones that most people get brainwashed and don't believe what they say. The government is cutting instructions finances to give much more money to private schools and UNIs (despite this is specifically forbidden by our constitution) so that they can create an élit of reach people to rule the country, leaving all the others out. They are encouraging a privelege system, despite the first article of our constitution says that the foundation of our nation is work. For which people who work better should deserve more and not rich or influential people. Despite these things are for everyone to see...a lot of italians still think to what berlusconi says: Italy is the happiest country ever, and if it's not perfect it's for communists' faults. (Despite we almost have no communists around) and the church too encourages such false interpretations of the reality because despite Berlusconi is highly immoral, he foot-licks the Vatican by letting the church doing the f**k it wants without any regulation. This includes not paying taxes, hiding pedophile priests and a lot more. The ministry of culture is letting Pompei (the largest heritage site in the world) literally collapse and get ruined without doing anything to save the situation of the ruins. This are just examples, i could give more: the situation is unbearable.
What do you know and think about our situation, being you outside this devasted country?

I'm just waiting for Luca Di Montezemelo to ride to saviour on his prancing horse.

Hopefully, seen as Berlusconi's a tad insane, and seemingly awful at running the country. (Perhaps just distracted by the pretty girls in his parliament, but the end result is the same.)

    (For reference i'm a complete Italo-phile.)
