    A boat of mass 800kg is pulled along the sand at constant velocity by a cable attached to a winch.the cable is at an angle of 15° to the horizontal.

    IF the tension in the cable is 4kN show that:
    1) the frictional force opposing the motion of the boat is about 3.9kN
    2)The normal reaction of the sand on the boat is about 7kN

    Draw a force diagram and resolve forces parallel to direction of motion. Then use F=ma to find the frictional force.

    How much have you done? For starters, drawing a diagram is really helpful and after that, you've gotta resolve.
