    Got an e-mail from Gloucester confirming my first interview.. so I logged onto track.. but it says I have an "invitation" from Southampton Solent not Gloucester and Gloucester is blank.. What on earth is going on.. do I phone UCAS?

    Some universities communicate interviews via UCAS, some don't. Gloucester obviously don't, and instead phone you to let you know.

    I've had no e-mails, phone calls or anything from Solent confirming an invitation though..

    That's because they communicate their interview on Track, so there is no need. :p:

    Ask Beska said, not all universities communicate interviews / open days on track and will use email or post, and some will do it only on track.
    So you need to use both email / post and track to keep "track" of what interviews you have

    I'm pretty sure that they're the same thing but it shows up on UCAS as "Invitation" because it isn't always an interview - sometimes you need to show a portfolio, do some acting, etc. depending on your course. If you click your course code for further details it will tell you more. For example, my Nottingham interview on Track:



    and when the red 'A100' is clicked for more information, it states it is an invite to an interview:
