Does anyone know if there's a legal temperature that universities have to keep their halls of residence at? I have my heater on all day and I'm still literally freezing in it at the moment. I've had the maintenance team up to look at it and they said it's working and the heater is as powerful as it gets; it's an old building. The porters can't give me a portable heater either.

I'm usually a very warm person and my hands are a funny colour writing this and there's ice on the inside of the (single-glazed) windows.

So, can I grab a thermometer from somewhere and prove that my room is too cold to inhabit and then demand a heater?
