Hi, I've just got back from a two month trip to Peru with Real Gap, as for my experiences with them, I've posted in these two topics already http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1472536
    http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/show....php?t=1471944

My group was aged between 18 and 30. I was in a group of 8 - with two guides. I was the youngest, being one of the two 18 year olds. There was also two 19 year olds, two 20 year olds, a 23 year old and one 30 year old. I was the only English person, apart from one guide (the other guide was Australian) everyone else was Danish and German.

There was only one guy! There was meant to be two but one fell ill at the last minute. I think it changes quite a lot though, my guide suggested that it was quite unusual to have that sort of ratio.

I did the Peru Expedition, I can't see it on the website anymore so I'm not sure if they are running it anymore.

I went to Ecuador with Real Gap and it was really good, the company over there were really helpful and gave us like a welcome info meeting. they also gave us there mobile numbers and took us to buy local sims so we could contact them at all times. I think it was worth going with them as I felt a lot safer knowing I could call them if i ever needed to and they also arranged all our in country transfers so we didnt have to suss out the local transport! hope this helps, if you are thinking of booking with them send me a message, i can get you 5% off
