I'm a 15 year old boy and really wanting to take singing lessons but I am really afraid that if I tell friends and people at school, they will just laugh at me and call me 'gay'. I don't think people should be judged just because they want to do something like singing.

Do people think that it's okay for boys to take singing lessons?

I also need to find 2 people my age to have singing lessons with me, if anyone at all is on TSR who may be interested message me!

P.S - This is my friend's account, so if you do message him it might take me a while to get back to you, I doubt anyone will be on here that will want to sing with me!

Well I have singing lessons, and although I don't really care what anyone thinks, no-one seems to think it's embarrassing or anything.
In fact, my friends now know me as the good singer in the school!

If you really enjoy it, just go for it!

Absolutely fine. It's your life, and if people care enough to tease you (which they probably won't), they're immature or jealous that you have an amazing voice :P If you enjoy it, do it, regardless of what other people think

Cheers for the reply, didn't think I was going to get anything there!

How long have you been doing singing lessons? Are you a similar age to me?
Do they really make you better?

I'm only one year above you

I could sing fairly well before I got them, but the exercises you do definitely help open up the range and lessen strain. Just be sure to follow what the teacher's doing, and you'll benefit loads!!

Also, I'd recommend going on youtube and doing some warm up exercises and stuff before you sing. You'll notice the difference when you do it

Edit: Also, I've had about 6-7 lessons over about 4 months, and I've noticed the difference
