Hey, i just have a few questions about Surrey. Im looking to study Politics in sept 2011

    1) Is there anyone doing Politics currently? Are the lectures good?

    2) Do i have to take a 4 year course with a year away or can i just focus on doing three years?

    3) Does the Politics society attend the Model United Nations?

I don't do Politics so I can't answer the questions about that, but the placement year is optional - most people do one though, I'd definitely recommend it! You don't have to decide on whether you want to do a placement year until the end of first year though, so you could start off on the three year course and then switch to the four year if you change your mind.

Same as above, not sure about the politics side of things but Surrey puts a lot of emphasis on the placement year, its optional but definitely encouraged! Surrey has the highest level of graduate employment- mainly cos of the placement year. So consider it, placement year is good fun and hardly anyone regrets doing it and helps you get a job at the end of your course
